With over $25,000 in monthly prize money and an MTV partner, Ourstage runs one of the most high profile online Music Contests on the Internet. They have a heavy emphasis on rock and allow fans to signup and vote in real time on their favorite artists. How do their contests work?

In March 2010 they ran a "Save Me, San Francisco" songwriting contest put on with a mentoring session from Train. In that contest geared to songwriters it was for the Pop Music genre and each artist was restricted to one song. Contestents must also be 13 years or older plus at least one member of the band had to be a legal resident of the United States as of March 1, 2010. Final prize was a mentoring session with Train and up to $2,000 to reimburse travel expenses.
